Housing

My Shelter Programme

The Housing Programme, “My Shelter”, was developed in order to respond to the immediate and acute cases of housing needs identified in rural communities. Although not a focus area, 23 houses have been built and furnished since 2010.

This service by the Jacob G Zuma Foundation does not undermine the set government housing provision processes. Instead, it rather seeks to provide immediate housing to attend to emergency cases, such as those brought about by natural disasters and other causes.

Many applications are received and certain processes are followed to verify the needs presented to the Foundation. Applicants are then waitlisted until such time as funds are available to build houses.
